With only a telephone on the floor of a cold office room and stores of boundless ambition and enthusiasm Don Steffy (Executive Director 1996-2007) made a casual phone call to the manager of Marcel Marceau in late 1995. A post card had come to the address 6701 Zionsville Road, indiscriminant of how long the P.A.C. had been in existence. After negotitations Steffy built the Pike Performing Arts Center's innaugural season around Marceau's 50th anniversary tour. From that auspicious first season the Pike Performing Arts Center has seen some of the world's most compelling entertainment groups grace its stages. Varied and engaging season line-ups characterize the Pike Performing Arts Center's raison d'etre.
In 2007 Jeff Maess replaced Steffy as Executive Director. With a wealth and variety of expertise Maess lead the Pike Performing Arts Center to new heights, increasing the quantity and quality of the educational programs available and balancing the budget for the first time in the Center's history.
After the Pike Township Board of education voted in favor of not continuing the Subscription Series in 2009, Jared Duymovic suceeded Maess. After a major reorganization of staff and procedures the Pike Performing Arts Center remains a major force in the Indianapolis arts scene, maintaining a premier venue that fosters a growing community.
